Hidden Word (“the App”) is provided by Webspring (“we”, “us”). This policy describes what the App does and does not collect.
Hidden Word is a personal Scripture rehearsal app. We do not require accounts, and we do not sell personal data.
Information the App uses
- Passage requests. When you load a passage, the App sends the reference you enter to our server proxy, which retrieves ESV text and audio from Crossway’s API. We use this only to fulfill your request.
- On-device preferences. Settings such as My list, recents, Schedule, Timer, and playback preferences may be stored on your device. Cached audio may also be stored so verses can keep playing reliably.
- Notifications. If you enable Schedule or Timer, the App uses system notification capabilities you grant. You can revoke these in iOS Settings.
What we do not do
- We do not create user accounts or login profiles for the App.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use advertising trackers or analytics SDKs in the App for ad targeting.
Third parties
- Crossway / ESV API — provides Scripture text and audio for the references you request. Their terms apply to API use.
- Hosting — our proxy and this support site may be hosted on Cloudflare. Standard server logs (e.g. IP, time, URL) may be collected by the host for security and reliability.
- Apple — if you download via the App Store or TestFlight, Apple’s privacy practices apply to distribution.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
