About the app
Hidden Word Audio helps you hide Scripture in your heart by hearing it on loop: the official ESV® text and audio, a My list of verses, and Schedule and Timer cues that start playback for you.
Hidden Word Audio is entirely free for listeners and runs without ads, subscriptions, or anything to buy. It is a volunteer project, not a commercial business, and no one is paid for working on it.
FAQ
- Audio stopped when I locked the phone. Playback keeps going on the lock screen for verses already on your iPhone. Hidden Word Audio loads the next verses of My list ahead of time while the app is open, so play My list for a moment before you lock the screen.
- Schedule or Timer didn’t start audio. Open iOS Settings › Hidden Word Audio and allow Alarms (iOS 26 and later) or Notifications (earlier iOS). Then open Schedule or Timers in the app and tap Set schedule or Start timer again.
- Passage not found. Check the book, chapter, and verse (for example, John 3:16-17). New verses need a network connection.
- Which Bible translation? The ESV®, provided by Crossway’s ESV API. The full copyright notice is in the app under About.
